Road Closures

From time to time, the City permits the temporary closure of a street to facilitate construction and maintenance activities, or to provide a safe environment for a community event. Requests for construction-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Construction Inspection Division. Requests for event-related road closures are reviewed and approved by the Special Events Division.

  2. Lane Shifts/Construction: 200 E. Washington Street Area

    Due to the construction at 200 E. Washington St., Spring St. between E. Washington St and E. McBee Ave will have lane shifts with limited lane widths. Travel ways will be delineated with traffic barriers and posted signage. Drivers may enter and exit the Spring St Garage in either direction onto Spring St. S Irvine St between E.   2. Mills Avenue Road Closure

    On Monday, May 15, Greenville Water and contractor Saluda Construction will begin a project to replace the water mains located under Mills Avenue, starting at Augusta Street and moving toward Henrydale Avenue. Construction is expected to last through the end of 2017 and there will be lane closures throughout the duration of the project, so please use caution when traveling in that area.

  2. Aberdeen Drive, between West Lewis Plaza and Augusta Street

    Weather permitting, on Tuesday, August 1, the City of Greenville, in conjunction with Duke Energy, Charter Communications and AT&T, will begin work on a project to bury the overhead utility lines on one side of Aberdeen Drive, between West Lewis Plaza and Augusta Street.     Northwood Avenue will be closed to traffic for installation of a new sewer line.

  2. Falls Street, between Japanese Dogwood Lane and East Broad Street

    This temporary closure, for the purpose of completely utility improvements, is scheduled for two months. Access to local businesses will be maintained, via Japanese Dogwood Lane, Calvin Street, Webster Street, Vivian Street and East Broad Street. The section will be reopened Oct. 12-15 for Fall for Greenville.
