The Greenville Police Department’s Youth Academy provides high school students and rising 9th graders with an inside look at local law enforcement. During this free one-week interactive program, students will see firsthand what it takes to be a police officer, explore career opportunities in law enforcement, and learn about the day-to-day operations of the Greenville Police Department.
Participants will meet officers from a variety of GPD divisions, who will share their experience - providing valuable information designed to keep teens safe and ensure positive interactions with law enforcement.
The 2017 Youth Academy will be held July 31 to August 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no cost to participate, and lunch will be provided each day.
The Youth Academy is open to students who are currently in 8th-11th grade and who will be going into 9th-12th grade next school year.
