City Partners with  Shi Institute To Create
Long-Term Sustainability Plan

In the summer of 2021, the City will partner with the Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities at Furman University to begin work on a long-term sustainability plan, called SustainableGVL.

Guided by the City's Green Ribbon Advisory Committee, the SustainableGVL Plan aims to protect our natural resources, improve the health of the region's watersheds and reduce the City's carbon footprint.

Public involvement will be a critical piece of the project. The City will use surveys and public meetings to offer opportunities for participation. Subscribe (at right) to receive regular updates on the work.
