Downtown Street Vendors

Downtown Greenville is alive and flourishing, and its wide sidewalks, lush greenery and unique blend of shops and restaurants come together to create a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. In addition to traditional brick-and-mortar businesses, street vendors also contribute to the urban landscape and can be found throughout downtown’s Central Business District (CBD).

Location Restrictions


Vending is restricted to specific locations, but in general, vending is allowed on public streets and sidewalks within the CBD and within 300 feet of the CBD. View a Vendor Cart Location Map (PDF) for more details.

Merchandise Restrictions


Types of merchandise that can be sold by a street vendor include:
  • Beverages
  • Cards
  • Flowers
  • Food
  • Pens
  • Regional souvenirs
The sale of clothing items other than T-shirts or caps is not permitted.

Applications


Street vendors must submit an Street Vendor Application (PDF) for the rental of space in the CBD. If approved, must obtain a Street Vendor License in addition to a Business License.
