National Accreditation

The Greenville Police Department has been nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since March of 1995. In order to maintain accreditation status, the department is assessed and inspected every 3 years by CALEA and must maintain compliance with more than 400 national law enforcement standards.

Assessment Program

The Greenville Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets nationally accepted professional standards. This assessment will be in the 4th quarter of 2014 with tentative dates of December 6-9, 2014.
