Lillian Brock Flemming

About the Council Member


Lillian Brock Flemming is a native of Greenville and graduate of the historical Sterling High School.  She retired in July 2017 after 46 years with Greenville County Schools as a Teacher and Professional Employment Recruiter. Holding a Bachelors and a Masters of Mathematics Education from Furman University. Councilmember Flemming also received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Furman University in September 2014.  

Community Service and Recognition


She is a past president of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, charter member of the West End Lions Club, past president of Greenville Blue Star Mothers-Chapter 3, current secretary and past board chairman of Brockwood Senior Housing, Inc., past board chair of Southernside Block Partnership, Inc., board of directors member for Boy Scouts Blue Ridge Council, and executive committee member of the NAACP Greenville Branch.

Councilmember Flemming has received many awards and honors, among them: Mentor of the Year Honoree of the United Way and Furman University’s Outstanding Alumni Award. Councilmember Flemming is currently serving her second term on the board of the Girl Scouts of SC-Mountains to Midlands. She also serves on the Girl Scouts personnel committee and is a life member of the Girl Scouts of SC.
